Our client, an established but growing accountancy practice with approximately 20 Partners, located in newly refurbished offices in the heart of Central London are looking to bring in a Senior Accountant to their team. Known for its high-quality service and commitment to staff development, this firm offers a vibrant and professional environment with a clear path to progression. The firm values work-life balance, operating a hybrid working model of three days in the office per week.

I'm looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join the firm. The ideal candidate will be fully ACA or ACCA (or equivalent) qualified, with strong experience in financial statement preparation and exposure to basic tax work. You will work closely with Partners and have the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of clients, gaining significant responsibility and visibility within the firm.

What you will be doing as a Senior Accountant

  • Preparation of financial statements for a wide range of clients, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Working on a portfolio of clients across various sectors, maintaining strong client relationships and delivering high-quality service.
  • Provide basic tax compliance support, assisting clients with their tax obligations and identifying potential planning opportunities.
  • Review work prepared by junior staff, providing feedback and guidance to support their development.
  • Work directly with Partners, providing valuable insights and contributing to the delivery of client advisory services.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all client deliverables, meeting deadlines and maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Assist in the development of processes and best practices to improve efficiency within the team.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Fully ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with a solid background in financial statement preparation.
  • Experience with a large and varied client portfolio, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Exposure to basic tax work, with a willingness to further develop your tax knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships and work collaboratively within the team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proactive and ambitious, with a desire to progress within a supportive and dynamic firm.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid model, spending three days per week in the office.
