Commercial Accountant | Salford, Manchester (3 days in office ) | £50,000 - £57,000 | PLC
Axon Moore have partnered with a leading FMCG business in Salford who are looking to strengthen their commercial finance division. This could be suited to an established newly or nearly qualified management accountant looking to step into a more "value-add" role providing you have budgeting experience.
You will provide financial control and management reporting to challenge and support the sales and operations teams to achieve their corporate and budgetary requirements through providing accurate analysis and information to enable informed decision making.
Responsibilities include:
- Business partnering with Business Unit Directors, challenging and influencing where required
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of accurate costing in all aspects of the business
- Support to the development and maintenance of a pricing strategy
- Develop a simple monthly review of margin performance to highlight issues and allow effective control and management
- Budgeting & forecasting
- Identify margin and profit enhancement opportunities
- Provide the business with sales and cost analysis reports to assist with management decision making
- Lead a detailed review of all product related costs and refine the approach to standard costing
- Identify opportunities to reduce product cost
- Establish a control framework to ensure cost is always considered in product/customer decision making
Ideal candidate:
- Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA, however nearly qualified accountants will also be considered
- Confident communicator, with an ability to challenge
- Experience of working cross functionally with other departments
