A growing Designated Specialist Provision within a primary school in Abbeywood, Greenwich are looking for an SEND Learning Support Assistant to join them from September on a full-time basis.

The Role

In this role you will be based in a class of 5 children within the DSP. All pupils in the class have diagnosed Autism and vary in their communication ability and learning needs. The class follow a sensory curriculum and you will be required to provide 1 to 1 support with the children to enable them to engage in a range of learning and development activities. You will also be supporting the teaching staff to prepare resources and accompany children in specialist therapy sessions. As the children you will be supporting with are very young (EYFS/KS1) some will require personal/intimate care and this will be part of the role.
The school are ideally looking for SEND Learning Support Assistants who have previous experience within a specialist SEN school or have supported young children with autism. They are open to applications from others with childcare/school-based experience who have a passion and desire to move in to the Special Needs sector.

This Designated Specialist Provision opened 3 years ago and is part of a popular and successful Academy group in Greenwich. There is a dedicated and experienced teaching and leadership team in place and all staff are encouraged and supported to access training and development opportunities.
