Assistant Management Accountant

Posted by Paul Card Recruitment Ltd.

Are you studying towards an accounting qualification but frustrated that you're not able to put your knowledge into practice?

Perhaps you're ready to move up from your current Finance Assistant role, leaving behind invoice processing to focus on management accounts and analysis.

Or maybe you're working towards an AAT, CIMA or ACCA qualification and are ready for the next step in your accounting career?

If you recognise yourself here, this could be an ideal job for you.

The Role
Here, you'll join the finance business partnering team who are responsible for working with the operational and commercial parts of the business, helping them to make better decisions.

You'll analyse the business's activities to review performance to budget, asking yourself the question "Does my answer look and feel right?".

After reviewing your work, you'll travel to the company sites throughout North Yorkshire to present your findings to managers, helping them to understand the performance of their teams and how it can be improved.

About You
To succeed in this role, you'll need good communication skills and the ability to engage with people.
You'll also be ambitious and seeking to develop in your accounting career, and you'll be actively studying towards an accounting qualification.

And you'll need your own transport to be able to travel between operational sites.

The Rewards
You'll receive a training package that will include study support from your preferred provider, membership and subscription fees, and two days' annual leave per exam paper (one revision day, plus the day of the exam).

You'll also enjoy flexibility in your working hours and location. You won't be tied to your desk, and you'll be trusted to get the job done in the hours that suit you. So if you need to start or leave early, that's fine.

And there are no set expectations around your place of work or being in the office. Most people work from their Northallerton or Thirsk office two days each week, but there may be times at month-end when you'll prefer to work five days from home.
