Key Responsibilities

  • As a Category Manager for plumbing and heating, drive incremental value creation through exceptional negotiation skills with all suppliers in the portfolio.
  • Execute the Category strategy effectively and efficiently within the plumbing and heating sector.
  • Develop comprehensive Category plans by leveraging customer and market insights specific to plumbing and heating.
  • Collaborate with the broader team to implement the pricing strategy for the plumbing and heating Category.
  • Enhance customer experience by supporting promotional activities, space planning, and in-store presentation of plumbing and heating products.
  • Identify pricing trends and create strategies to optimize margins in the plumbing and heating product area.
  • Contribute to achieving company profitability targets.
  • Monitor Category performance, identify market trends, and drive the success of Product Groups within plumbing and heating.
  • Prepare and present monthly reports on savings, benefits, key initiatives, and projects, utilizing a well-developed Category Management dashboard (KPIs).

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience as a Category Manager in the plumbing and heating sector within high-performance organizations, preferably within the building materials supply industry.

  • Strong understanding of Category Management principles in a B2C environment, with knowledge of the supply chain and key decision-makers.
  • Resilient negotiator and influencer, capable of delivering under pressure and excelling in relationship development.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate ideas clearly and creatively.
  • Effective in cross-functional teamwork.
