The Business:

Our client is enjoying a period of profitable growth, and in the last two years will have nearly doubled profits whilst increasing sales by nearly 50%. Growth is exciting but almost brings challenges in terms of scaling the IT infrastructure to suit a larger business.

The business is an independently led SME owned by a PLC offering the best of both worlds - the freedom to be agile, entrepreneurial and develop its own strategy, whilst having the financial support of its plc parent to invest in projects which enable the business to thrive.

Culture

You will be empowered to run your area the way you want, whilst being accountable for delivering results. The business likes to employ people with low egos who value the opinions of their colleagues. That way everyone gets a voice and the business makes better decisions as a result. The business welcomes diversity.

The Opportunity:

Develop a three year plus IT strategy for the organisation ensuring maintenance and upgrade of the business IT infrastructure. Ensure that technology is used optimally to underpin efficiency in all aspects of the business and allow further growth. Manage the IT team and ensure the team always has the skills set to provide good and timely service to IT users in the business.

  • Day to day management of IT vendors ensuring licences remain in date and negotiated to ensure pricing and service are continuously improving.

  • Working with Head Office to ensure compliance with Group policies - this includes items such as IT security.
  • Management of the current IT team with a possibility of utilising an outsourced IT supplier to support day-to-day; first, second-, and third-line support.
  • Identifying and acting on opportunities to improve and update software and systems.
  • Formulating and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery plans
