Warehouse Assistant

Our client is a manufacturing company who specialise in the production of high precision machined components. The latest CNC turning and milling machines are used along with a dedicated quality team to ensure each part is built to the highest possible standard. They are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Assistant to join their dedicated and hardworking team.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience within a Warehouse/Stores role, possess good IT skills including email and excel, have a strong attention to detail and be able to prioritize personal workload to ensure efficiency in completing tasks.

As a Warehouse Assistant you will receive goods-in, quality checking of items, kitting component parts/materials against WO order requirements, as well as preparing and packing items for shipment to partner businesses for sub-contract operations. You will also manage bookings with various couriers and prepare finished goods for shipment to customers.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

  • Demonstrable experience within a Warehouse/Stores role
  • Possess good IT skills including email, excel and database systems
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Be able to prioritize personal workload to ensure efficiency in completing tasks
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Be a strong team player

Your duties as a Warehouse Assistant would be:

  • Receiving goods-inwards and quality checking items to ensure they comply to the requirements of the purchase order and are in good condition
  • Kitting component parts/materials against WO order requirements
  • Preparing and packaging items for shipment to partner businesses for sub-contract operations
  • Managing post-production inventory, ensuring parts are stored correctly to maintain quality requirements
  • Ensure that all materials are clearly identified, stored and sorted correctly
  • Preparing and packing finished goods for shipment to customers – this will include creating delivery notes
  • Managing bookings with various couriers to ensure goods are sent on-time, safely and in accordance with supplier and customer requirements
  • Managing supply of packaging materials
  • Carrying out required transactions in the company's Production Control System to ensure full traceability requirements of the AS9100 approved Quality System are maintained
  • Supporting monthly and end of year stock takes
  • Track shipments as required and liaise with couriers to provide shipment information to customers
  • Provide support to other team members and departments during busy times to meet the needs of the business

Salary:

£11.44 - £13.25 per hour

Hours:

  • Monday – Thursday, 8am – 5pm, Friday 8am – 1pm
  • Permanent
