Senior Procurement Manager - Role Overview:

As the Senior Procurement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the procurement strategy. You will oversee the procurement team, manage significant budgets, and ensure best value for money across all university purchases. Your leadership and influencing skills will be crucial in driving procurement excellence and fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Senior Procurement Manager - Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the university's goals
  • Lead, manage, and mentor the procurement team to achieve optimal performance
  • Negotiate and manage high-value contracts and supplier relationships
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvement
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to understand their procurement needs
  • Report on procurement performance and provide strategic advice to senior management

Senior Procurement Manager – You:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant subject
  • Full membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS)
  • Proven experience in a senior procurement role, preferably within the education sector
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid working environment
