Position: Billing Assistant

Location: London

Hours: Full-Time (35 hours per week, 9:30 am – 5:30 pm)

As a Billing Assistant, you'll be at the heart of the billing operations, supporting a dynamic team and gaining invaluable experience in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Your role will be integral in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of billing processes, making you a key player in the firm's financial success.

What You'll Do:

  • Draft Billing: Prepare and print draft bills, ensuring they are accurate and ready for final approval.
  • Electronic Invoicing: Upload and monitor electronic invoices, ensuring they are processed efficiently and correctly.
  • Client Fund Management: Check for available client funds and collaborate with cashiers to apply them to bills.
  • Invoice Dispatch: Assist in the timely dispatch of invoices via email, ensuring that clients receive them promptly.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with attorneys, billing specialists, and the credit controller to address any billing issues and facilitate bill re-issues or amendments.
  • Proforma Processing: Assist with printing, sorting, and routing monthly proformas to keep billing operations running smoothly.
  • Compliance: Ensure all billing activities comply with VAT regulations and Solicitors Accounts Rules.

What You'll Need:

  • Experience: 1 to 2 years of professional services billing experience, ideally within a law firm.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is a must; experience with electronic billing systems is a bonus!
  • Organisational Excellence: Strong organisational skills and attention to detail will help you succeed in this role.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work harmoniously with others.
  • Problem-Solving: A proactive mindset and strong analytical skills to troubleshoot billing issues.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
