Salary: £38,000 - £40,500 per annum + overtime paid at x 1.5 & x 2.0 + benefits
Hours: Sunday: 06.00-14.30 / Monday: 06.00-18.30 / Tuesday: 06.00-18.30 / Wednesday: 08.00-18.30
Location: Commutable from Stockport, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Wilmslow, Stretford and surrounding areas

A heavy plant manufacturing company who offer challenging and rewarding careers to Engineers are looking for a Mechanical Engineer, who wants to be part of an established, loyal and successful team.

Great shift pattern working 4 days a week - days only. They also offer opportunities to take on further training and complete qualifications as you grow and progress in the role and company.

Working on a weekly shift of Sunday: 06.00-14.30 / Monday: 06.00-18.30 / Tuesday: 06.00-18.30 / Wednesday: 08.00-18.30

You must be willing to get your hands dirty in a heavy plant environment and not be averse to training and developing your skills. If you're qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) either via an apprenticeship or college or similar, and have experience in any of the following, please apply; bearings, motors, pumps, gears, belts, chains, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding (mig/arc). Ideally in some form of maintenance or fitting or servicing role gained in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Fitter you will be part of our clients hands on in house team who keep the plant running by ensuring the equipment runs smoothly.

From troubleshooting to planned preventive maintenance (PPM), you will be hands-on with specialist machinery, ensuring everything runs like clockwork. It's a dynamic role where problem-solving skills and technical expertise are used daily, and you will be a key player contributing to the efficiency and reliability of their production processes.

Requirements

  • You will be a mechanically biased engineer with experience working in manufacturing / factory environments, with a minimum level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline.
  • Safety is their biggest priority, so you'll be committed to safe working and have strong experience of health and safety best practice.
  • You'll enjoy working in a busy environment where you can roll your sleeves up and get hands-on, and being flexible and able to adapt to the different daily priorities will enable the factory to continue to run efficiently.
  • As this role is sometimes physically demanding, you'll be fit enough to perform your various duties.
  • Any experience of belts, chains, bearings - fitting & aligning, pumps, motors, gears, hydraulics, pneumatics, Arc / Mig welding and fabrication would be desirable - training and support can be given on some areas
  • Diagnostics experience of hydraulics, pneumatic and drive chain fault finding is highly beneficial
  • Proactive work attitude and keen to get stuck in and hands dirty in this heavy plant role
  • Friendly and adaptable working attitude, able to work well in a team
