Category Specialist - Estates

My client, a Procurement shared service supporting, is looking to recruit a procurement professional with a strong background in capital and estates. The role will be responsible for leading and delivering on strategic and high profile procurements within the Estates Category, as well as ensure the category plan is inline with the wider organisation objectives as well as relevant public sector legislation and regulations.

Day to day your role will include:

  • Ensure the inclusion and promotion of sustainability concepts & innovation into all procurement projects undertaken.
  • Ensuring a commercial focus is maintained and value for money is achieved in accordance with legislative requirements, regional and national procurement strategies/policies and Contract Standing Orders on all projects delivered.
  • Manage the sub-category pipeline of work, ensuring that procurement projects are appropriately allocated to direct reports, based on project value, risk and complexity.
  • The post holder must have the ability to interact with all senior level management and represent the organisation as a collective or individually, where necessary.
  • Manage and assist in the training and development of Procurement Specialists and Procurement Officers, assuring the quality of their work and ensure regular communication with Supplier Relationship Management & Commercial Support colleagues, as appropriate.

In order to be considered you will hold MCIPS Level 6 in-line with the CIPS structure guidance or be able to clearly evidence equivalent levels of experience, technical knowledge and expertise by having worked as a leading Procurement professional in the area of Corporate and Operational Services for a complex, public sector organisation.

The role can be based at multiple locations across the East and South East of England and requires 2 days a week in the office.

The salary on offer ranges from £46,000 to £61,000 (location dependant) and a £5,000 supplement is also offered for this position.
