Project Manager - Operations

The Role

Unite Students have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager in our Central Operations team. The Operations Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of any new project that could be defined as property impacting.

With a key role at the Operations Forum where the business will present new ideas and projects, you will be responsible for the project`s success in being `property ready` and required to play a lead role in planning, executing, monitoring and closing out projects that will impact multiple properties or key operational metrics (where they fall outside the business cycle which is led by the operations support manager). The project manager will hold all stakeholders accountable for their delivery to the project. As a part of your role you will also be accountable to support technology, creating clear processes and `United Ways of Operations` that drive tool adoption, as well as managing operations partnerships along with our Brand team.

What you`ll be doing

  • Support the execution of the central operations strategy
  • Support the Head of Operations Support with the organisation and management of the operations forum, taking responsibility for the successful delivery of new projects.
  • You will work with project leaders to ensure the plan is clearly defined and will be property ready for full launch.
  • Throughout the project process, you will work with the project lead to define tasks, garner the necessary support needed and hold all stakeholders accountable for delivery.
  • Working with the Operations Support Manager and Communications Manager - Operations, you will ensure delivery is well planned to land at the right time and communication is clear.
  • Working with the Insights team, you will build a suite of reports to measure implementation, success and impact of landed projects until they are embedded
  • You will support the business through change; working across functions to develop and implement strategies to introduce and manage through change
  • Be an ambassador, both with your own team and through the Operations Forum to deliver our promises to students in all that they do: provide a place to grow and thrive, provide a place to belong, be there when you need us.
  • Share best practice and be principled in pursuit of the delivery of a world class student experience.

What we`re looking for in you

  • Ability to explain the purpose and vision of Unite in a way that is meaningful and motivating
  • Ability to solve complex problems impacting multiple properties or across multiple disciplines or functions
  • Ability to read quantitative and qualitative data and identify root causes that leads to specific action to improve performance
  • Demonstrates pride and a desire to continuously improve in all that they do with a proven track record of delivering results
  • Demonstratable cross-functional experience and/or in depth knowledge of relevant functional topics that would not normally be considered a part of their day to day responsibility (shows thirst for learning)
  • Aware of market trends and able to develop a compelling case to implement new initiatives
  • Builds relationships and networks both across and/or outside the business and is able to recognise potential opportunities to implement
  • Is able to demonstrate how to successfully communicate across an organisation and multiple locations
  • Ability to articulate theory for how to embed change within an organisation
  • Demonstratable experience of leading through change and adapting plans to take account of changing situations
