Childrens Team Manager - Assessment and Intervention

Our Client, Devon Council, is seeking a Team Manager to join their Children's Team.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Have direct management responsibility for a team of Academy staff including those delivering direct training and development, as well as support functions
  • Ensure provision of professional leadership and supervision and appraisal of staff, working in partnership with other stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage the performance of the team, promoting good practice and continual professional development within their team
  • Support the Service Manager to deliver a comprehensive and clear workforce development programme for Children and families, aligned with the Workforce Development strategic plan, in line with the Council and directorate priorities.
  • Manage and deliver professional development schemes and learning programmes to support the restorative practice framework and embed Motivational Interviewing as a core practice skill.
  • Define and deliver a structured Continuous professional development offer for qualified staff that also responds to evolving local priorities.
  • Forecast trends in staffing profiles, and plan pro-actively to ensure a succession plan of newly qualified staff, as well as pathways for alternatively qualified staff and aspiring leaders.
  • Provide quality assurance of the workforce development plan, and support and challenge others to provide a high-quality service.
  • Undertake evidence-based analysis of the workforce development plan, to create a culture of continuous improvement and development, and report this to the Service Manager in a quarterly analysis

Requirements of this role:

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Must have Social Work Qualification.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
