Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual with a background in the culinary arts to join our team as a Food Technology Instructor. This role does not require formal teaching qualifications; however, experience in a professional kitchen setting is essential. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging and accessible cooking and baking lessons tailored to our students' unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that teach basic cooking and baking skills.
- Adapt lessons to meet the varied needs and abilities of our students.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
- Encourage students to develop their independence and confidence in the kitchen.
- Collaborate with other staff members to support the overall educational goals of the school.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as a chef in a restaurant or formal kitchen.
- Strong understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
- Ability to develop creative and engaging lesson plans.
