The Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Behavioural Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting students with behavioural challenges, helping them develop positive behaviours that will enable them to succeed in school and beyond. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, and families to create individualized behaviour plans and interventions tailored to each student's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough behavioural assessments to identify students' needs and develop targeted intervention strategies.
  • Design and implement Individualized Behaviour Plans (IBPs) to support positive behaviour changes and improve students' academic and social outcomes.
  • Provide direct support to students during behavioural incidents, using de-escalation techniques and therapeutic interventions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour plans, adjusting as needed to achieve the best possible outcomes for students.
  • Lead training sessions for staff and parents on behaviour management strategies and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, interventions, and student progress.

Experience: Proven experience working with children and young adults with special needs, particularly in managing and supporting behavioural challenges within an SEN setting.

  • Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families.

  • Excellent organisational and documentation skills.

  • Personal Attributes:

  • Empathy and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by students with special needs.

  • Patience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • Creativity in developing effective and engaging behaviour interventions.
