Day Rate: £350 per day PAYE

Opportunity Overview: A fantastic opportunity has opened to temporarily join my client, the UK's regulator of financial services firms and financial markets, as an Associate - Compliance Monitoring.

Role Objective: The Supervision and Compliance Monitoring (SCM) Division is responsible for ensuring that the PSR's regulatory requirements are complied with and improving outcomes for everyone that uses payments systems by challenging poor practice within firms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and operate administrative processes for the team in relation to its communication with firms in relation to APP Scams.
  • Provide assistance to the wider team in managing escalations of issues from Pay.UK to the PSR.
  • Proactive engagement with teams across the PSR to collate evidence and make recommendations.
  • Setting up meetings with regulated firms to influence and assess the level of compliance that has been achieved.

Requirements:
Essential

  • Willingness to accept ownership of tasks and ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to classify and organise information in a logical manner.
  • The ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively internally and across a wide range of external organisations.
  • Ability to work confidently with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word applications.
  • Ability to use electronic document management systems including to store and retrieve emails and other documents.
  • The ability to contribute to the successful delivery of major projects and programmes within tight timescales and managing competing priorities effectively.

Desirable

  • An understanding of compliance and compliance monitoring and the role it plays in promoting effective and proportionate regulation.
  • An understanding of data management principles, and how these can be used to support supervision, compliance monitoring and investigations.
  • An understanding of how regulation is structured and how oversight can be performed.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry including what you have gained from compliance/ investigations work involving firms and consumers who are within or engage with the industry.
