We need a passionate and experienced mental health nurse to work in a well-established team at a Trust in West Midlands.
Description:
Your role will be to act as the key nurse assessing and planning nursing care requirements on a one-to-one basis. You will be the patient advocate, supporting family members and carers to be as involved as required.

Work in accordance with SWFT Nursing Strategy and contribute to achieving SWFT strategic objectives.

Adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse or key worker for a defined patient, taking responsibility for:

Protecting and supporting the health of an individual patient.

Assessing care and health education needs.

Developing, implementing, and evaluating programs of care.
Skills:
- Demonstrable experience of working in a mental health setting.
- Knowledge and experience of adult safeguarding procedures.
- Ability to restrain patients using approved techniques.
- Handling and appropriately storing patient valuables.
- Ability to deal with emotional and distressing situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Respect for the privacy and dignity of individuals.
- Ability to manage difficult situations.
- Ability to cope with exposure to aggressive behavior.
- Ability to plan own workload.
- Knowledge of Mental Health presentations and appropriate interventions.
- Understanding of the NMC Code of Conduct.
- Knowledge of risk management and how to plan care to account for risk.
