Overview:
First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic International Defence business who are looking to recruit a Workshop Technician due to growth to be based at their Huntingdon depot.
As a Workshop Technician, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. We wish to appoint a skilled Workshop Technician with expertise in metalwork and machine fabrication and this is an ideal opportunity to be part of a team that offers a great place to work within a stable company with a role that can be varied and interesting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize fabrication techniques to assemble, cut, and shape materials to meet project requirements.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform welding tasks using various techniques (MIG, TIG, or ARC) to fabricate metal components, and inspect welded joints for accuracy and conformance to specifications.
- Be the appointed Inventory holder for materials and tools.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide regular updates on project progress.
- The ideal candidate should be proficient in the operation of lathes, milling machines, drills, and various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, and gas welding). This role involves not only the technical aspects of metalworking but also requires effective communication and collaboration with customers throughout the projects.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Workshop Technician or similar role in operating lathes and milling machines to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work on own initiative independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Level 3 Award in Gas, Mig and Tig Welding with knowledge of the different welding techniques.
- Full driving licence.
