Job Title: Town Planner or Planning Manager

Location: Glasgow

Salary: Competitive, DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Town Planner or Planning Manager to join a successful Land and Planning Team in West Scotland. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional looking to take the next step in their career within a leading UK housebuilder.

What is the Role?
As part of a small but dynamic team, the successful candidate will handle a variety of planning applications of varying scales and complexity. Responsibilities will span the entire planning process, from policy and promotional work to development management and site delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
- Produce planning assessments for new site appraisals.
- Lead on planning applications, including Outline, Full, and Reserved Matters, as well as discharging planning conditions and negotiating S75 agreements.
- Oversee masterplanning of new sites and liaise with layout designers, engineers, and external consultants.
- Prepare and commission planning statements and various technical documents to support applications.
- Organise and attend stakeholder/public consultation events with professionalism.
- Coordinate responses to consultations on new and emerging local and national planning policies.
- Assist the Managing Director in key business decisions and represent the team in regular regional meetings.
- Mentor and train junior team members.

What is Needed?
- Previous experience in development management or planning, ideally within a Local Authority, Planning Consultancy, or with a Housebuilder/Developer.
- A Degree or Masters in Planning with RTPI accreditation and a comprehensive understanding of planning.
- Strong adaptability and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Proactive approach with a willingness to take initiative.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
