Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD Support)
Location: Tower Hamlets
School Rating: Good (OFSTED)

Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school in Tower Hamlets, rated Good by OFSTED. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with ASD in a classroom setting.
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and ensuring lessons are accessible for students with special educational needs.
  • Encouraging and supporting students with ASD in developing social, communication, and life skills.
  • Collaborating with the teaching staff, SENCO, and external specialists to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and track student progress.
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment where students feel safe and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with ASD in a school or educational setting.
  • A patient, compassionate, and adaptable individual with a passion for working with SEN students.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive approach to helping students manage their emotions, behaviours, and learning challenges.
  • A commitment to upholding the school's inclusive ethos and contributing to its continued success.
