Overall purpose of this role of Assessment Executive

Reporting to the Assessment Quality Assurance Manager, this role is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of key assessment-related processes, including the remote invigilation audit, exam disruption appeals, and misconduct procedures.

The postholder will play a hands-on role in each process, completing core tasks and ensuring deadlines are met. They will also support the effective management of peak periods by training, guiding, and monitoring temporary staff, helping to maintain high standards of accuracy, fairness, and regulatory compliance across all activities.

Assessment Executive Responsibilities include:

  • Undertake the processing of exam disruption appeals in each ACA session, including logging applications and making the initial judgement on cases. When demand is high, train temporary staff in the application of the procedures and use of systems, monitoring quality and efficiency KPIs. Arrange and prepare for review meetings for senior managers within the process.
  • Commence the processing of exam disruption appeals during each ACA exam session, including logging applications and making initial case assessments in line with established procedures. During peak periods, train and support temporary staff in system use and procedural compliance, monitoring quality and efficiency against agreed KPIs. Coordinate and prepare documentation for senior management review meetings related to the process.
  • Monitor the progress of the remote invigilation video reviews, ensuring completion in line with internal KPIs. Manage the recruitment and onboarding of internal reviewers, allocate review tasks, and deliver training sessions at the start of each exam session. Lead daily catch-up calls during peak processing periods to monitor progress and address issues in real time
  • Respond promptly to queries from ICAEW staff at all levels regarding the remote invigilation audits, exam disruption appeals, and misconduct processes.
  • Support the development and review of processes, procedures and associated documentation, actively contributing to the continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of ICAEW's operations
  • Provide administrative support for the Assessment Committee.
  • Assist in drafting the Assessment Committee report on exam disruption appeals and misconduct for each ACA session.
  • Specific duties will vary from time to time in line with the business needs

Assessment Executive Candidate Profile

  • Strong IT Proficiency, including Word and Excel (with experience in mail merges, intermediate excel formulae and pivot tables).
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all tasks
  • A clear understanding of the importance of maintaining the integrity and security of exams are upheld (desirable)

A fast learner with the ability to retain and apply regulations and criteria effectively (desirable)
