Job Type: Full-time, Temporary. Hybrid working.

Transport for London are looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner on an interim basis to join the Technology and Data team, overseeing technology service operations. This role is critical in supporting project management tools such as SAP and Power BI. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACCA) with experience in a large organisation and a complex matrix structure, preferably with a technology background.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Act as a Finance Business Partner to budget holders, representing Finance at Programme, Project, and Operational Boards.
  • Work with Finance teams and other professional services to streamline processes and deliver effective services.
  • Support the team with forecasting, headcount management, and periodic reporting.
  • Manage a current budget for technology service operations
  • Provide stakeholder management, business planning, and budgeting support.
  • Ensure the financial statements prepared by the reporting team are accurate.
  • Shape options for the annual Business Plan and ensure the affordability of the budget for the business area.
  • Provide key management reporting and information to support decision making and achieve business objectives.
  • Collect, collate, and challenge financial and other planning information to inform the financial planning process.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and insight on business performance using investment and project appraisal techniques.
  • Utilise financial services provided by the Business Services Function for management accounting and commercial support.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA).
  • Experience in managing delivery of key management accounting services.
  • Extensive experience working with senior management and challenging stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in integrated ERP accounting platforms (SAP) and data manipulation for reporting and financial management.
  • Strong skills in variance and financial/budgetary analysis, forecasting, cost accounting, and risk control.
  • Knowledge of professional accounting principles and standards.
  • Management reporting and external reporting skills.
  • Experience in building relationships at senior management level.
  • Working knowledge of investment appraisal tools and methodologies.
  • Desirable: Experience with technology background and working in a large organisation with a complex matrix structure.
