Workshop Technician: 30k-35k
Location: Loanhead, Edinburgh
Schedule: Monday to Friday, approximately 9 AM to 5 PM
Job Type: Permanent
We are seeking a versatile Workshop Technician to join our dynamic team in Loanhead, Edinburgh. As a Workshop Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our engineering R&D activities. This position involves working on test rigs used to validate designs, including assembly/disassembly under the supervision of our design engineers. Familiarity with hydraulic power packs, electromechanical assemblies, and mechanical workshop drawings is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and disassemble test rigs, including hydraulic systems and electromechanical assemblies.
- Interpret mechanical workshop drawings for parts inspection and assembly.
- Perform maintenance and fault finding on equipment.
- Operate machine tools such as lathes and mills (advantageous).
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines in the workshop environment.
- Collaborate effectively within a small team environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in a similar workshop-based role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn new skills.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication and general workshop tools.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and fluid power fittings (advantageous).
- Forklift or telehandler operating qualifications (advantageous).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
