We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Practice Manager to join our team. This role is integral to our firm's operations and growth, and we're looking for someone who can rise to the challenge. We offer a competitive

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and develop the Finance Team, ensuring it provides excellent, innovative, and highly focused service and support to the fee-earning elements of the business.
  2. Undertake the operational running of the finance team, developing and embedding controls, procedures, and good practice to ensure statutory and SAR compliance across the firm.
  3. Develop and update departmental procedures at a strategic level to support the company's planned growth.
  4. Provide technical support in relation to the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR) and generally accepted accounting principles.
  5. Recruit, retain, and develop a team of professional staff to foster a high-performing team and a culture of excellence.
  6. Ensure prompt and fully reconciled billing and timely receipt of monies.
  7. Ensure robust financial systems and compliance with the requirements of the Solicitors Regulatory Authority.
  8. Produce statutory accounts in line with the Companies Act and provide financial information to the Board of Directors and Shareholder Representatives regularly.
  9. Lead on firm-wide projects and business growth appraisals and assist in the preparation of tenders and other business development activities.
  10. Manage the activities of the team, including performance, managing workloads and productivity, development and training, recruitment and selection, and supervisions and appraisals.
  11. Identify training needs within the firm and ensure best practice, practical skills, and key business information is shared across the firm.
  12. Comply with all Legal Services' practice management requirements, including billing, Lexcel, and other accreditation schemes, and compliance with all policies and procedures.
  13. Ensure that reasonable care is taken for the health and safety of the team, including compliance with health and safety policy and procedure.
  14. Train and support colleagues.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with experience in a legal setting being a plus. They should be familiar with the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR), statutory reporting requirements, and have experience leading a team. Finance qualification or equivalent work experience is essential. Qualified in CIMA/ACA/ACCA or similar Leadership/Management Qualification would be desirable.
