Location: London (Hybrid working 2 days in office 3 days remote)
Contract Length: until 31/03/2025
Pay Rate: £400-£450 per day via Umbrella

Are you a passionate individual with a strong interest in data management and climate change? Our client, a well-established banking organisation in the EMEA region, is seeking an ESG Data Governance Analyst to join their team on a fixed-term contract basis.

Purpose of the Job: This role offers a unique opportunity to work on climate change initiatives and data governance within a dynamic and collaborative environment. You will support the EMEA Sustainability Strategy Team and work closely with various teams across the bank to ensure data quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and support the data governance strategy and policy.
  • Build and maintain the data catalogue, including documentation of data standards and lineage.
  • Monitor changes to business data requirements and manage change and release activities.
  • Act as a key interface for ESG-related data governance and quality requests.
  • Collaborate with business, compliance, technology, and other groups to define and communicate data-related business requirements.
  • Drive data quality control and monitoring discussions, identify gaps, and perform remediation activities.
  • Implement data quality monitoring checks using approved tools.
  • Investigate data quality issues and develop remediation plans.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Sustainability/ESG data and data governance practices.
  • Experience with data quality, metadata, profiling, analysis, and data management tools.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver workable solutions.
  • Confident stakeholder engagement and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Exposure to data catalogue/data lineage/data governance tools such as Collibra.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of data quality practices and controls implementation.
  • Experience in regulated frameworks, ideally financial services.
  • Familiarity with Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, and SharePoint.
  • Exposure to Data Engineering/Data Science.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing Japanese is a plus.
