Team Leader (Tour Operator)
Join this leading tour operator dedicated to crafting unforgettable expeditions around the world. They specialise in curating exceptional travel experiences and have a small team of Travel Consultants who need a Team Leader to report into the MD.
Team Leader - What will I be doing?
- As a Team Leader you'll play a pivotal role in driving sales excellence while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the sales team. This role is a perfect blend of sales leadership and team management, where the individual will spend 70% of their time actively engaging in sales activities with customers and approximately 30% managing and mentoring the team to achieve outstanding results.
- Lead by example by actively engaging in sales activities, achieving personal and team sales targets.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive business growth and maximize revenue.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members to enhance their sales skills and performance.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track individual and team performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and implement standardised processes to streamline operations and ensure consistency in service delivery.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting open communication, teamwork, and accountability.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members to support their professional development and career growth.
Team Leader - what experience do I need?
- You must have proven experience in Team Management within the travel industry, preferably in a tour operator or travel agency environment.
- A passion for adventure travel would be an advantage.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent sales ability and comfortable in a very hands-on role
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to set and achieve ambitious sales targets and KPIs.
- Experience in developing and implementing sales strategies and processes.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.

This is a hybrid role requiring at least one day a week in the office in South Cheshire
The role is Monday to Friday with one weekend every 4 or 5 weeks on call with time off in lieu.
