IT Support Apprentice

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled individual to join our team in a role focused on the installation, service, and support of IT infrastructures.
Initially based in our office, you will collaborate with our Helpdesk Technicians and Consultants, supporting the latest technologies from Microsoft, HP, and other leading vendors.

Your responsibilities will include commissioning new hardware and software both remotely and on-site.

Duties:
You will receive comprehensive coaching and mentoring from our experienced support team, ensuring you become proficient in the following duties:

  • Dealing with 1st level Support calls, via phone, email and webchat
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Call management, escalating unresolved calls in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensuring Helpdesk SLAs are achieved
  • Keeping accurate records and call logs
  • Follow-up and update customer status and information
  • Provide accurate information on IT products or services
  • Onsite/Remote Installations, configuring hardware/software for customers

Desirable skills / qualities:

  • Keen to learn, with an interest in Information Technology
  • IT savvy, with a good understanding of computer systems
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and to take responsibility
  • Ability to work with a range of internal and external people
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations
  • Honesty and integrity

Essential:
Having a full driving licence and your own vehicle is required - as the role involves travelling.

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
