The Opportunity:

As

Manager

within this busy engineering company, your key role will be to lead and mentor the

Supply

function and team of 10 including: Production Planning, Change Control, Procurement and Production Engineering. It would be ideal if you have previous experience within the Automotive or Defence Industry, but an engineering background would be essential otherwise. You must also offer proven experience creating and negotiating work agreements with suppliers for specific commodities, have experience of completing extensive contract review and the ability to read technical, engineering drawings.

Please note that this is offered on an initial 9 month fixed term contract.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Day to day management of the Procurement and Supply Chain function and team.
  • Manage operational risks that could affect or interrupt the supply chain.
  • Analyse Engineering drawings and BOM's to make effective make/buy decisions, based on the resources available to group whilst understanding the financial benefits through in-house manufacture and subcontracting via supply chain.
  • To assist in the resolution of contract, quality or delivery problems.
  • Creation, negotiation and management of framework agreements with key suppliers for specific commodities.
  • Driving and directing critical activities with your suppliers to ensure on time delivery of goods and or services to the correct terms.

Skills Required

:

  • CIPS level 4 or above (or working towards). Alternatively, a demonstrable track record of negotiating terms and creation of framework agreements with key suppliers.
  • Strong team management skills and experience of supporting and mentoring with a minimum 3 years in a Supply Chain Management role
  • Use of ERP and MRP systems
  • Knowledge of drawing standards, geometrical tolerance, welding specification etc.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) at all levels including suppliers and customers
  • Able to adapt to different software
  • Good report writing and project information recording
