Due to a recent increase in orders across the business, my client are looking for another Design Engineer to join the team. This business supply their product into a range of different industries, including bars & restaurants, education, energy, water treatment, automotive and electrical engineering to name a few.
The ideal candidate will have ideally come from a fast paced manufacturing background. You will be well versed in 3D design, and previously used Inventor 2022.
Role Description
- Create and produce designs and technical CAD GA and manufacture drawings for modification and general fabrication projects using company supplied software which training will be provided.
- Assist with the creation, monitoring, modifying, and improving as necessary: working methods, standard documents, procedures and computer systems within the technical design and drawing areas of container conversions / fabrications part of the business.
- Break down designs to produce materials and components lists for pricing and purchasing.
- Identifying where goods/services/sub-contract elements are required.
- Work with the manufacturing elements of the company to ensure correct interpretation of technical information, highlight where discrepancies have occurred, work together with others to correct these events, and create working methods/procedures to prevent recurrence.
- Liaise with customers as required on technical and design matters.
Skills and Qualifications
- HND/Degree in an Engineering discipline (mechanical or product design would be advantageous)
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and product design processes
- Experience in 3D modelling using Inventor 2022
- Experience within a busy manufacturing environment
