We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our finance team, reporting directly to the Financial Director/Controller. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our financial processes, including ledger management, payroll, job costing, credit control, and reporting activities.

Day to day of the role:

  • Manage daily purchase ledger and sales ledger processing tasks.
  • Supervise and complete the weekly payroll process for approximately 50 employees.
  • Conduct job costing analysis and generate associated reports.
  • Provide cover for the Senior Accounts Assistant with purchase ledger, sales ledger, and weekly payroll duties.
  • Perform credit control activities to ensure timely payments.
  • Carry out monthly stock taking of raw materials and report findings.
  • Analyse monthly sales and expenditure to produce detailed reports.
  • Assist the Financial Director/Controller with ad hoc duties as required.
  • Handle general administrative tasks to support the finance department.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A good understanding of Excel is essential.
  • Experience with Sage 50 Payroll and Sage 200 is beneficial but not essential.
  • The successful candidate will be provided with full training on various payroll and finance systems, as well as the internal production system.
