Teaching Assistant required for an excellent SEMH school in Solihull.

This is largely down to a dynamic team of Teaching Assistants who are supporting students who have struggled to engage in mainstream education. As a Teaching Assistant you will be supporting teacher in managing behaviours, delivering 1-2-1 support, and leading on small group activities. It is crucial that you have previously worked with SEMH or challenging behaviours and that you possess excellent behaviour management skills. Ideally you will hold a level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, however experience supporting young people with SEMH needs is essential.

Job Role:

  • Acting as a teaching Assistant / Mentor providing tailored support for students.
  • Understanding range of challenging behaviours and additional needs.
  • Making learning fun and engaging, communicating effectively with staff and students.
  • Ensuring that children are always safeguarded and that any concerns are reported to the DSL.
  • Leading group activities and break out sessions.
  • Working with a team of Teaching Assistants to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Caring about the wellbeing and progress of students.
