Proposal Engineer

The role:
As an experienced Proposal Engineer, your commercial and technical experience will enable you, with minimal guidance, to facilitate the development and submission of complex technical and commercial
proposals, within a team selling model. This position requires expertise in proposal management,
including strategic planning, project coordination, and customer engagement. The Proposal Engineer II
collaborates closely across internal functions and external partners to deliver high-quality proposals
that support business growth objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- With guidance from the Commercial and Technical Leads, oversee the proposal development process, including analyzing customer RFPs, conducting technical assessments, and developing innovative solutions.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, technical proposals, and project schedules in alignment with customer requirements.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to gather technical data, engineering designs, and material specifications for proposal content.
- Identify and propose initiatives to support the enhancement of sales processes, tools, and systems.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior proposal engineers, fostering professional development and team collaboration.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the entire commercial team and all commercial functions.
About you:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years or more of experience in proposal engineering or a related role, with progressive responsibilities in proposal development and management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex proposals concurrently, from inception through submission.
- Advanced proficiency in proposal management software and MS Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of computers and applications, such as Microsoft Office Package
- SAP and Salesforce experience a plus
- Fluent in English with proficiency in Portuguese and/or Spanish preferred
