The Opportunity

Location

: Remote (with monthly travel required to client sites predominantly based down South)

An exciting role has opened up with an innovative data insights company that has been making waves since 2016, helping clients across Rail, Retail, and Manufacturing sectors harness the power of data for strategic growth. Currently undergoing expansion, this organisation is looking to bring in a skilled IT Project Manager to take ownership of project delivery, a role previously managed by the senior leadership team.

This permanent position is ideal for a project manager ready to make an impact, taking full responsibility for project oversight, working closely with stakeholders at all levels, and liaising with a talented development team in India. If you're proactive, organised, and enjoy seeing projects through from conception to completion, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Responsibilities

The successful IT Project Manager will step into a vital role, managing the delivery of projects and ensuring high-quality outcomes for clients, particularly within the Rail sector, which accounts for 80% of the company's business. This includes two major contracts expected to continue over the next 18 months.

In this role, you'll:

  • Take over project management responsibilities from senior leaders, developing and managing project plans, roadmaps, and milestones.
  • Lead the end-to-end project lifecycle, ensuring all deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Work closely with an India-based development team, maintaining regular communication to monitor progress and address issues as they arise.
  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that expectations are clear, resources are allocated effectively, and project objectives are met.

This is a fully remote role with travel to client sites required approximately once a month, so candidates should be comfortable with the occasional trip to meet with key decision-makers and clients.

Candidate Profile

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience in IT project management, particularly in environments involving multiple, complex projects.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to work across departments and time zones, managing up to 20 deliverables at once.
  • A collaborative approach with experience managing international teams and stakeholders at various levels.
  • Exposure to the Rail sector or similar industries is beneficial but not required.
  • A willingness to travel to client sites monthly to ensure project alignment and relationship-building.

Why join?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking, data-driven team committed to meaningful client outcomes. You'll work closely with industry leaders and gain significant autonomy to shape project success within a growing company.
