Elevation Recruitment Groups Skilled Shop Floor team is currently recruiting a CNC Laser Operative for an Aerospace company in Sheffield.
The Role:
You will be responsible for setting and operating Laser cutting machines in accordance with strict safety, quality and work instruction guidelines. This role includes regular maintenance checks on machines and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Salary & Shifts:
£29.752.05 (plus 12.5% shift allowance)
Mornings & Afternoons
Mornings = 0600 – 1345 (Mon-Thur), 0600 – 1200 (Fri).
Afternoons = 1330 – 2115 (Mon-Thur), 1145 – 1745 (Fri).
Responsibilities:
- Set and operate laser cutting fixtures to machine datum
- Compare laser cut components to drawing specifications
- Understand machine parameters and check against data card
- Maintain the standards of all fixtures associated with the laser process.
- Ensure continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions and irregularities.
- Ensure products meet customer specifications and internal standards, including NADCAP and AS9100.
- Keep equipment operational by performing autonomous maintenance and calibration.
- Understand and adhere to company and department policies and safety procedures.
- Report to work on time, follow instructions from supervisors or management, interact well with co-workers, and follow work rules and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
- Maintaining active communication with co-workers is essential for coordinating a structures and smooth workflow
Experience:
- Qualification in Engineering discipline
- Triumpf machine experience is desirable
- Proven experience in Laser operating position
- Experience within Aerospace industry (desirable)
- Understanding of lean principles (5S)
- Be able to work in a busy environment
