Location: Chertsey with Flexibility to work across the Contract

Pay: up to £40,000 PA (DOE)

Role Overview:

As the HSE Manager, you will support the Senior HSE Manager Healthcare in managing HSE across all senior living sites. Your role will involve providing expert advice and guidance to operational teams, conducting incident investigations, audits, and inspections, and supporting the implementation of effective HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HSE Support: Provide competent HSE advice, guidance, and support to healthcare contract managers.
  • Communication: Facilitate the communication of crucial HSE messages to healthcare operational teams to ensure compliance.
  • Incident Management: Investigate incidents and enforcement actions promptly, engaging operations teams and support functions such as legal and HR as needed.
  • Audit and Inspection: Conduct internal audits and inspections at specified sites, delivering reactive interventions when required.
  • Senior Support: Support the Senior HSE Manager Healthcare and deputise as necessary.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze HSE performance data, including TRIFR and FSIR, ensuring delivery of key performance indicators.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise effectively with business support functions and HSE regulators, maintaining good relationships and ensuring compliance.

Key Result Areas and KPIs:

  • Health & Safety Performance: Deliver key H&S performance indicators.
  • Food Safety & Allergen Management: Achieve food safety and allergen performance targets.
  • Auditing: Conduct internal audits with high scores.
  • Reactive Interventions: Effectively manage reactive HSE interventions.
  • Support Healthcare Network: Engage and support the Healthcare Champion network.

Operational Standards:

  • HSE Compliance: Ensure communication and adherence to HSE standards.
  • Incident Investigation: Promptly investigate and close out reported incidents.
  • AIR3 Monitoring: Track and manage incidents reported within healthcare.
  • ISO Accreditation: Maintain relevant ISO accreditations and HSE management policies.

Person Specification:

  • Enthusiastic, motivational, and excellence-driven
  • Organised and able to prioritize effectively
  • Honest, transparent, and consistent
  • Respected by peers and team members
  • Flexible with a "can do" attitude
  • Experienced in remote working and regional UK travel
  • Knowledge of the healthcare environment is advantageous
  • ISO auditor
  • IOSH managing safety Level 3 or above.
  • Food hygiene level 4
  • Able to deliver relevant classroom and on job training
