Purchasing Assistant – Retford – Up to £26,000
Chase & Holland are delighted to be partnered with a successful and market leading Manufacturing business based in Retford as they seek to recruit for a new Purchasing Assistant to join their team.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this exciting position will offer you an opportunity to work within a Purchasing environment and to establish or grow Purchasing skills. This is an ideal role for a Graduate, or someone looking to start or extend a career within Supply Chain.

Purchasing Assistant Responsibilities:
- Processing purchase order documentation along with ERP transactions, maintaining purchasing records in accordance with procedures
- Tracking and expediting purchase orders via several means of communication
- Managing supply issues by liaising with a range of internal departments
- Resolving invoice queries ensuring contracts are up to date and pricing is correct
- Developing and maintaining supplier relationships this may include price negotiation and supplier performance reviews
- Sourcing new ingredients and suppliers to support other teams
- Provide cover to support during the Procurement Managers absence
- Occasional travel to supplier meetings may be required
Hours:
Full-time, Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 4:30 and 8:00am – 3:30pm Friday
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience within a fast-paced administrative role
- Involvement in a purchasing or buying environment is desirable
- MRP/ERP system experience
- Have strong attention to detail and be IT literate including Microsoft Excel
- Negotiation skills
