Operations Supervisor Overview:
As part of the company expansion, our client seek an individual to spearhead freight-forwarding operations at their Manchester office. Reporting to the branch manager, you'll oversee a versatile multi-modal team, collaborating closely with warehouse and forthcoming 3PL contract logistics divisions.
Operations Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operational tasks.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client liaison and issue escalation.
- Supervise operational team activities efficiently and effectively.
- Provide support and guidance to team members in their daily functions.
- Address failures promptly, analysing root causes and implementing corrective measures.
- Foster staff empowerment and facilitate career progression.
- Identify and implement procedural enhancements.
- Spot potential sales opportunities and direct them to relevant departments.
Operations Supervisor Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in both Air and Ocean logistics.
- Excellent communication skills with a knack for influencing others.
- Leadership capabilities, adept at encouraging and coaching effective communication.
- Personal commitment to continuous self-improvement.
- Ability to cultivate strong relationships within the team and recognise and reward achievements.
- Confidence in implementing innovative changes to drive business success.
- Knowledge and experience in Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) practises are advantageous.
