The Role:

As an Audit and Accounts Senior Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing audit and accounting engagements, managing client relationships, and developing junior team members. You will ensure that all client work is delivered to the highest standard and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing external audit engagements for a portfolio of clients, from SMEs to larger corporations.
  • Overseeing the preparation of year-end financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
  • Managing and mentoring audit and accounts teams, reviewing work, and providing guidance on complex issues.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Ensuring all audits are conducted in accordance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and auditing standards.
  • Reviewing and approving tax computations in conjunction with the tax team.
  • Identifying business development opportunities and contributing to the growth of the firm's audit and accounts functions.
  • Managing the workflow to ensure deadlines are met and clients receive high-quality service.
  • Monitoring technical developments in audit and accounting regulations, ensuring compliance across the team.
  • Contributing to strategic discussions and supporting the partners in shaping the direction of the practice.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, with a strong background in both audit and accounts preparation.
  • Proven experience in managing audit teams and leading client engagements.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and auditing standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop junior staff members.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Business development experience and the ability to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or similar.
