I am looking for compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support a network of Primary Schools across Doncaster. I am looking for individuals with experience in supporting children, or young people, who have SEMH issues and can bring an empathetic and nurturing approach to every day.

Every day is different when supporting a child with additional needs, so the ideal candidate needs to be able to adapt and be flexible, someone who enjoys variety and taking on a new challenge every day.

Day-to-Day of the role:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with SEMH needs, adapting to their emotional and educational requirements.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to implement effective strategies that promote positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Assist in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment where all children feel valued and able to achieve.
  • Support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEMH needs.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of students, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to further enhance your understanding and skills in supporting SEMH.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting children, or young people, with SEMH issues (experience as a Teaching Assistant is desirable)
  • Demonstrable empathy and the ability to engage with children.
  • Strong behaviour management techniques and a patient approach.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of SEMH.
  • An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
