Marine Hull Account Handler

You will be working for a boutique growing Lloyd's Broker specialising in the Marine Insurance business, with offices around the world. The business is multicultural and due to the expansion, there will be an office move in Autumn 2024 to a location nearby to the current address. They are fully service oriented, and they serve their customers with all their knowledge and passion. They can service any marine coverage, but most clients are Hull & Machinery/Increased Value/Freight Interest, P&I, War Risks, Kidnap & Ransom, Yachts. They place business produced from their other offices alongside working directly with clients and other producing players. They see a very wide variety of accounts and have vast experience of dealing with all types of tonnage, records, clients and trading.

Your new role
Your new job working as a Senior Account Handler means you will need 5 years' + experience in the London Insurance Market within a similar role and will need to be able to cope with a busy working environment. Duties will include managing a portfolio of accounts within a subteam of 5 including Brokers and Account Handlers, creating open market MRCs, facility declaration off-slips and endorsements, preparing client documentation accurately following regulations, submitting and sending MRC slips to Underwriters. Further duties include managing all renewals and adjustments in a timely and professional manner, processing risks into the in-house broking system, generating debit/credit notes to clients and issuing closings to underwriters, calculating and processing premiums across Hull & War Placements, addressing queries effectively and promptly to ensure client and market satisfaction. Other duties include providing technical support to Placing Brokers, collaborating with the Accounts/Finance team, building and maintaining relationships, participating in ad hoc projects and attending weekly team meetings.

What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience working as a Senior Account Handler for 5+ years in the Marine Hull & War division will contribute to your success in securing this role. You will have proficient preparation of MRC slips with attention to detail, experience in premium processing, working knowledge of placing platforms and ability to work 3 days in the office. Desirable traits are diligence and ability to take ownership and work in a team, strong communication skills, attention to detail, time management, proficiency in Microsoft products, knowledge of the Italian language and CII qualifications (or equivalent).
