Our client a well established manufacturing and distribution company based in the heart of Altham is looking for a Warehouse Lead.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing warehouse operations and ensuring the efficient management of materials handling processes. We are seeking a dedicated individual with experience in forklift operation, warehouse management systems, and to have experience with continuous improvement and lean warehouse techniques.
The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday on the Day Shift 8am-4:30pm, but may occasionally be required to change Shifts/Sections to meet the needs of the company.
Responsibilities will include:
- Executing warehouse activities as assigned by the Warehouse Manager
- Unloading and booking in incoming goods
- Preparing and loading stock for dispatch
- Coordinating materials in and out of external storage
- Picking materials for production as per orders
- Maintaining stock accuracy throughout the warehouse
- Sustaining a high level of housekeeping
- Following all Health and Safety procedures at all time.
- Resource requirements planning
- Training/multi-skilling of warehouse operatives
- Maintaining time standards
- Sustaining maximum output levels whilst ensuring quality standards are met
- Maintaining and enforcing discipline, ensuring personnel comply with company regulations at all times, particularly in respect of Health and Safety and Environmental Regulations
- Sustaining a high level of housekeeping
- Liaising with Department Managers, Quality, H&S and other Team Leaders
The successful candidate would ideally possess:
- Counterbalance, Reach and Pedestrian Stacker licences
- An awareness of Health and Safety at Work, Quality and Environmental procedures
- Knowledge of Orchard warehouse management system or similar.
- Knowledge of Syspro ERP system or similar.
- Strong communication, computer, training and motivational skills
- The ability to multi task and work under pressure to tight deadlines and be:
- Well motivated, methodical and organised
- The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Able to meet and exceed customer expectations
- Able to follow and issue written and verbal instructions
- Flexible in working time if required to meet the needs of the business
