Join the Fire and Rescue Service in Nottinghamshire as an ICT Apprentice Support Technician.

ICT Apprentice Support Technician Arnold, Nottingham, NG5 8PP

  • 37 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
  • Fixed term contract (18-24 months)
  • £11.44 per hour (National Minimum Wage)

The ICT Apprentice Support Technician role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in providing high-quality customer-focused ICT support. Joining their dedicated team, you will learn to manage and maintain a variety of ICT systems and equipment.

As an ICT Apprentice your development will be their priority, joining a dedicated apprenticeship course will give you the skills to set you up for the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help the service to continue supporting the community by gaining experience in providing first-line Service Desk support to colleagues
  • Maintain high levels of customer service while proactively dealing with support queries and user problems
  • Support the workforce in the use of ICT equipment, systems and applications
  • Help them achieve our goal of creating safer communities by assisting with the installation and configuration of new ICT hardware and software
  • Gain experience in administering the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) of all ICT assets
  • Create regular reports on ICT response and achievement

Experience/Qualification

  • Experience using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
  • Be able to work as a team as well as independently to complete tasks and achieve objectives
  • Have excellent communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone
  • Be willing and enthusiastic to learn and understand the importance of confidentiality
  • Have a GSCE (or equivalent qualification) in English and Mathematics at grade 4 (or equivalent)
