We are seeking a dedicated School Kitchen Manager to join our team, starting in September. This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for creating nutritious and delicious meals for students, while managing the day-to-day operations of a busy school kitchen. The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained at all times.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Oversee the daily operations of the school kitchen, including meal preparation and service.
- Manage kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and supervising.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Develop menu plans that are both nutritious and appealing to students.
- Control inventory and manage the budget to minimise waste and maximise efficiency.
- Liaise with suppliers to order food and kitchen supplies.
- Maintain records for food supplies, budgeting, and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with school administration to address any food-related concerns and to support school events.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in kitchen management or a similar role.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Knowledge of nutrition and menu planning.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with budgeting and inventory management.
- A valid food handler's certificate or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to work early mornings, as required by the job's hours.
