Due to continuous growth, we have a new opportunity for a Business Unit Manager – EV Batteries Expert to join our Lubricants and Batteries Team.

Business Unit Manager – EV Batteries Expert - The Role:

Responsible for developing and executing Enva's strategy to collect and process alternative chemistry batteries, with particular focus on EV batteries. To identify and develop strategic relationships with OEM vehicle manufacturers and other waste producers to establish the framework for waste collection. To identify and develop key processing partners or other offtake relationships. Identification of M&A targets as appropriate.

Business Unit Manager – EV Batteries Expert - Key Responsibilities:

  • Health & Safety and Environmental Compliance

  • Ensure that the highest standard of health and safety and compliance are maintained in accordance with business standards.

  • Understand the safe handling and storage practices for lithium batteries, in particular EV batteries.

  • Understand the safe transportation requirements for lithium batteries, in particular EV batteries.

  • Business Development

  • Establishing a material market presence for Enva in the EV battery collection and processing space.

  • Work closely with sales and business development teams to nurture existing customer relationships securing alternative battery chemistry business and support the development of new relationships as needed.

  • Development of tactical business plans to enter and expand in this market space along with future development plans to deal with changing battery chemistries and applications ie Sodium batteries and / or wind farm battery applications

  • Working closely with Group Marketing, establish Enva externally as an innovator and market leader for EV battery collection and processing in the UK & Ireland market.

  • Commercial

  • Planning, development, and implementation of the departmental strategy for the business; responsible for continually reviewing the strategy, updating, and revising as necessary.

  • Full responsibility for P&L.

  • Co-ordinate processing partners audits and performance evaluation including contractual and SLA reviews.

Knowledge, Training, Experience, Technical and Personal Skills:

Required:

  • Strong commercial background, experience in subcontracts management, managing supplier relationships and cross functional teams.
  • Experience of reporting to a Board and the ability to build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven track record on target performance.
  • Excellent project and programme management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines in a high-pressured environment.
  • Understanding of business development processes including bid and proposal management.
  • In-depth experience in managing complex environments and at forecasting and planning.
  • Good knowledge of procurement lifecycle and supply chain management principals.
  • Exceptional negotiating skills.
  • Ability to engage and influence the right organisational resources and behaviours to effectively identify, mitigate and resolve issues.
  • Must demonstrate high levels of integrity and adopt a professional approach in all interactions – should be transparent, open, and honest in all dealings.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, mining engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in battery recycling, materials science, or a related industry, such as WEEE recycling, however alternative industries (manufacturing, oil, gas, fuel, food) with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Strong understanding of battery chemistry and material chemistry.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to recycling operations.
