Job Role:
This very important new Post of EHCP Support Worker in the SEND/Inclusion Faculty is take a lead on EHCP plans for students in school and to be an advocate and support for students with an EHCP plan.
The role, working alongside a very experienced SENCO and as part of our widely respected team of Inclusion specialists, will see you develop expertise in the process of Educational Health Care Plans in order that students receive the best and most appropriate support.
Experience in special educational needs in an educational setting will be essential for this role, perhaps as a teaching assistant with people and administrative skills. You will show the capacity to build strong relationships with a cohort of students and their families to provide the very best support for academic and social progress within a mainstream setting through the EHCP process.
The Inclusion team has over 35 teachers and LPAs (Learning Progress Assistants) working together in a purpose built suite of rooms. This provides specific intervention spaces as well as being the hub for classroom based support across our very large, very friendly and very successful secondary school.
Because of the size of the school (2,000 students in Year 7-11), the role will provide a unique and privileged opportunity for you to become an EHCP specialist building strong relationships with a specific group of students in order that they flourish in school and in life.
