  • Location: Newcastle City Centre
  • Hybrid Working: Yes, a mix of office and home working
  • Working Hours: Shift work (4 days on, 4 days off)

You will need to travel to the Newcastle Upon Tyne office as part of the role.

THE ROLE

As the first point of contact for all IT-related issues, you'll be providing vital 1st line support across the organisation. Drawing on your experience, you'll troubleshoot and resolve technical problems swiftly or escalate them where necessary to keep the business running smoothly. You'll also work closely with 2nd and 3rd line teams, identifying potential issues before they arise and ensuring they're addressed promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st line support for IT-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot or escalate technical problems as needed.
  • Proactively identify and prevent potential issues.
  • Collaborate with 2nd and 3rd line teams to ensure smooth operations.

YOUR SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

We're looking for candidates with hands-on experience in a similar 1st Line IT Support role. You should have a strong track record of effectively troubleshooting and resolving IT issues. Key technical skills we're looking for include:

  • Microsoft Office 365.
  • Windows 7 & 10.
  • Active Directory / Group Policy.
  • Printer troubleshooting.
  • Mobile device support.
  • Basic network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).

YOUR SOFT SKILLS

Success in this role will also rely on your excellent communication skills and customer-focused mindset. You'll need to stay motivated and self-sufficient, particularly when working remotely, and be flexible with shift patterns while collaborating effectively with your team.
