emporary Traffic Coordinator - Full Time
We are recruiting on behalf of a great business in York, offering a fantastic opportunity for a Temporary Traffic Coordinator to join their team. This role includes free parking and is based onsite, working Monday to Friday on an alternating shift pattern. This role is initially for around 6 months but could be extended.

Salary: £13.81 p/h (circa £27K per annum)

Duration: Ongoing - approximately 6 months. ASAP start
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement a comprehensive 365-day resource plan, ensuring strict compliance with company policies and Operator license regulations, particularly the Road Transport Directive and Working Time Directive hours.
- Facilitate seamless collaboration among internal teams, including workshops, scheduling, trade unions, and driver managers, to effectively coordinate and execute resource plans.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all drivers visiting the Traffic office, both third-party and company drivers, providing guidance and support in navigating the York site, keeping them informed about load statuses, and offering necessary instructions and assistance.
- Escalate major issues that have the potential to impact cost, service, quality, breach operator compliance, or result in a Health & Safety issue.
- Liaise and communicate effectively between the shunters, transport planning team, distribution center, and the factories as needed.
- Provide administrative support to the logistics traffic office, including managing phone calls, emails, and correspondence.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and Emails. Training will be provided on the company's systems.
- Strong communication skills. The role is driver-facing, so you will be the first point of contact for drivers collecting and delivering goods.
- A previous logistics background would be an advantage but is not essential.
