Location: Rainham
Remuneration: £40,000 - £45,000 + bonus
Benefits: Pension & 22 days annual leave
The role of the Transport Manager - Timber Products will involve:
- Transport Manager position overseeing all logistics and warehouse operations for the supply of a range of timber products
- Oversee the transport and timely delivery of all products leaving the Rainham Depot
- Ensure that all loads are collated for delivery (6 lorries)
- Plan all delivery schedules to best utilise the fleet and drivers
- Liaise daily with the sales team to ensure that load potential is maximised
- Responsible for all paper work / Driver and Loading Manifests are completed correctly
- Ensuring vehicles are serviced and M.O.T's are completed before required dates
- Reporting damages to Operations Managers
- Ensuring that H&S policies are adhered to at all times
The ideal applicant will be an Transport Manager - Timber Products with:
- Must have Transport Management experience within a timber or merchant or related background
- Transport Manager CPC qualification
- Load planning experience
- Ideally will have experience dealing with lorry mounted cranes
- Experience supervising health & safety on site (IOSH qualified)
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- IT literate (Microsoft Office)
- Organised, dynamic and self-motivated
