One of our esteemed clients in the Preston area has requested our support in sourcing an experienced Tax Manager. This vital role will be responsible for all Direct and Indirect tax matters within a highly successful organisation with a turnover of c.£320m.
This is an expansive and hands-on role that will involve close collaboration with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. As a result, it is an exceptionally visible and crucial position within the organisation, offering the successful candidate an exceptional opportunity for career growth.
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Developing effective taxation strategies and policies to optimise the Group's tax position.
- Collaborating with the organisation's tax advisors to provide comprehensive support and guidance on all tax-related matters, engaging external expertise when necessary.
This may include:
- VAT advice (including purchases on grants and partial exemption calculations)
- Payroll taxes
- Overseas payroll issues
- Overseas VAT/GST
- Withholding tax
- IR35 decisions
- Corporate Tax
- Providing tax advice and support for new initiatives, such as capital projects, partnerships, and course developments.
- Identifying additional tax reliefs and claims that can benefit the organisation's financial position.
- Developing standardised processes for tax reporting and monitoring, staying up-to-date with all relevant tax legislation, and ensuring the integrity of the organisation's accounting records and finance system with regard to tax.
- Preparing and submitting all necessary tax returns and schedules.
