Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Accounts Payable to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for the Purchase Ledger of multiple entities within a leading pharmaceutical and healthcare service provider. The successful candidate will work within a small, collaborative team to deliver timely reporting, analysis, and processes that support the business. What you'll do:

As a Senior Accounts Payable, you will play a crucial role in managing the Purchase Ledger of multiple entities within our client's organisation. You will be responsible for monitoring finance inboxes, maintaining prepayment schedules, performing bank reconciliations, managing manual bank payments, overseeing credit control, reviewing Purchase Ledgers, raising intercompany invoices and recharges, and performing balance sheet reconciliations. Your ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with your team will be key to your success in this role.

  • Monitor finance inbox and manage payables inbox
  • Maintain the Purchase Ledger, recording payments on the invoice log and posting to SAP
  • Manage prepayment schedule and post journals to reflect movement in schedule
  • Perform BACS run twice monthly
  • Handle bank reconciliation - entering bank receipts & payments to cashflow and posting to SAP
  • Manage manual bank payments and setting up new vendors
  • Oversee credit control, updating the credit control spreadsheet after any cash receipts received/posted to SAP to show current overdue
  • Review Purchase Ledger - ensure all entries on the invoice log posted that month are posted correctly
  • Raise intercompany invoices and recharges
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliation for Purchase Ledger

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Accounts Payable position brings a wealth of experience from previous roles in similar capacities. You have a proven track record as an accounts assistant and are comfortable working with significant volumes of data. Your strong IT skills, particularly with the Office 365 suite, will be crucial in this role. You have demonstrated your ability to work within a team to achieve common goals and have experience implementing best-in-class financial controls and procedures. Experience working in an environment of cross-company re-charges would be advantageous.

  • Proven experience as an accounts assistant with at least 2-3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team to achieve common goals
  • Experience in implementing best-in-class Financial controls and procedures
  • Ability to work with significant volumes of data
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working in an environment of cross-company re-charges is advantageous
  • Strong IT skills - particularly with Office 365 suite

The salary is £28,000 - £35,000 depending on experience. There is also study support available if you wish to study further. The are based in Bedfordshire but near the border of Hertfordshire and there is hybrid working.
